About:
Sarovar
Swarotsavam
is a fresh and inspiring take on conventional competitions. This
maiden initiative is designed to motivate students, encourage participation, and
energize the community by showcasing the rich classical arts talent within our
midst. More importantly, it challenges participants to recognize their true
potential and bring out the very best in themselves.
This is a competition with a difference.
Talent takes center stage as participants choose how to present their art within
a specified time limit, without interruption from the judges. Envisioned as
Michigan’s very own classical arts reality show, Sarovar Swarotsavam goes beyond
a traditional contest—it is a platform where dreams are nurtured and excellence
is celebrated. Judges serve not merely as members of a jury, but as
rasikas and mentors, guiding and
inspiring performers. Participants are free to express their finest music,
uninterrupted, within the allotted time, making this a truly empowering and
transformative experience.
Plan for Future: Exciting change will be
made in the future where we will have “category awards” added and Bala Sarovar participants can render
songs from (i)geetham – also includes swarajathi ¬tuswarams (ii)varnam – also
includes pada varnams and (iii)krithis without manodharmam. Participants can
take part in any or all of the categories by paying registration fee for each
category / sub category they are willing to contest. Each of these categories
will be judged and awarded prizes separately. Kumara Sarovar participants will
have (i)geetham – also includes swarajathi & nottuswarams
(ii)varnam – also includes pada varnams and (iii)krithis without manodharmam.
Participants competing for title awards, will need to render manodharmam.
Future events may also comprise of students competing for titles – Sangeetha Bala Sarovar, Sangeetha Kumara Sarovar title
etc. |
